ProWritingAid vs Grammarly is a battle that has been fought between the English writing software programs, English writing pros, and English writing tutors for many years. The software companies say that their product will help write and spell faster and easier while the tutors say that it will teach the skills that you need to be successful in writing articles, essays, and even articles with citations and the whole works. It seems that there is really no way to come down in the end. So, who is right?
Well, I say that both are right. You can check it yourself in this honest Grammarly Review post. I really do believe that when it comes to an article the rules are the same. The biggest difference is that you will not have to sit for hours reading through an essay before you write your own. In fact, you will be able to begin writing an article or essay without ever having read one before. This is very exciting because the world of online articles is about information and it is all about information today.
With that being said, you will still need to learn the proper rules of the English language as well. This is where the differences begin. When it comes to these two types of software, the pros are definitely better. The biggest pro is that you can take the articles you write and work on them until they are perfect. You will not have to read through an entire article to get the feel for it.
When you choose to use a spell checker, the only thing you will be able to do is run a spell checker over the piece of paper that you will be working on. You will not be able to make any changes to it at all. You will just be able to find misspelled words and change them. This is the same as if you were to type in misspelled words into your word processor. There is no way to actually fix the information because spell checkers cannot.
Grammarly is different. This software has been designed specifically to allow people to type an article without ever having to see the actual grammar or spelling checker. It will work with any text-based platform such as Microsoft Word or WordPress. No matter which program you use, the grammar checking will be the same on Grammarley as it will be on ProwritingAid.
The cons are very minor. One of the biggest pros is that it will save you so much time. You will not have to spend hours trying to figure out what an article is supposed to say. Even if you copy an article from a website, most times that will work just fine. All you will have to do is type it into one of the templates and copy and paste. This saves you so much time that you will never have to worry about having to come up with that exact sentence or thought.
Another pro is that you can send in the article once and get an answer. If you mess it up on the first try, you can send it in again and this time an expert will edit it for you. That way it will be perfect and there will be no chance that you will have made any mistakes. Some other pros are that it can be exported to a Word document or PDF and sent in by email. You can also export it to an eBook so you can read it straight through wherever you want.
The only con I can think of is that the response time is a bit slow. It took me less than a day to send an article from Grammarly to my inbox. This is much better than ProwritingAid which took almost two weeks. But I did receive many replies within just a few days. So that may be an acceptable difference as well. In the end, however, it really does not make much difference in which one you choose.
